Conférence : “Russia and Europe in Wartime”, organisée par CORUSCANT à Bruxelles
On January 27, 2025, the CORUSCANT conference titled “Russia and Europe in Wartime” will be held at IRSEM Europe in Brussels. This event will bring together leading experts to analyze the dynamics of Russian society and politics, as well as Russia’s influence in Europe, against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Nearly three years after Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, producing knowledge about the country has become a critical scientific and strategic necessity. Understanding the internal dynamics of Russian society and politics is vital for European policymakers to address the threat Russia poses to Europe.
Although European Union and NATO members are not direct participants in the war, their military and economic support for Ukraine, along with a range of measures targeting Russia, play a key role. At the same time, Russia is conducting influence and destabilization operations across Europe. The war’s outcome will likely depend not only on the battlefield in Ukraine but also on developments within Russia and Europe.
Conference Program:
- The Russians, the regime, and the war: support, opposition, or apathy?
- Russian strategy in Europe: influence, interference, destabilization
- Analyzing Russia at war: expertise and decision-making

- When: Monday, January 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. (CET)

What is Coruscant ?
In a context where Russia is inaccessible to foreign researchers and its regime increasingly repressive, experts face great challenges. The CORUSCANT research collective (Research Collective on Contemporary Russia for the Analysis of its New Trajectories), established in 2023, aims to renew Russian studies by building an international scientific network, training experts, and fostering dialogue with policymakers and the public.
